everyone for their support.
We are still working towards getting Demon Inc: Zombie Maker on the screen. We have not given up, we are still progressing. There is a studio looking at the screenplay and a few people who we won't reveal right now have suggested that Demon Inc. could make a wonderful program for podcasting. Video podcasting allows a person to watch televison programs on their ipod device or any other device capable of playing the files. It is still a fairly new idea and new publishing and broadcast technology is something that always captures our interest. P.S. If Mr. Spielberg, or Mr. Shamylan is reading, please contact us. Everyone else can contact us at the Email address at the top of the page. We like to hear from you. Graham Thomaz Writer October 8, 2004 - What Are You Doing? The people I talk to often
express a great
deal of interest once I tell them that I am making a movie.People get excited when I reveal what I am doing because I think that they were clueless about what I did before. I have been a writer for many years and most people understand the day to day labor of a writer. I sit around waiting for someone to assign me something to write about. That is my job. There are times like this, when I have some flexibility is deciding the subject matter of the article I write but it is rare. In general most acquaintances ask similar questions. Do I get a lunch break? How often do I get paid? Why am I asking so many stupid questions? Why am I interviewing a high school student? Most people are curious about the rest of my activity. What do I do when I am not writing? Do I write for the entire eight hour work day? Is there something to write about everyday? I don't get these questions when I say I am making a movie. Everyone seems to know, or have some familiarity with movie making. Everyone believes I will become rich and famous after the movie is completed, and everyone further believes that the movie will be made in two weeks and in the theater on the third week. I think they would be shocked if I told them the actual process. You have to start with an idea which becomes a good story which is turned into a screenplay. Then you rewrite rewrite rewrite. The idea part was easy. Unfortunately, with a screenplay, all of the descriptive parts are eliminated. A screenplay is composed of dialogue and scene changes and not much else. In a novel you can describe the wrinkles on the elephant. You can describe the hairs on its tail, the size, the roughness of the pedestal like feet. In a screenplay you describe the elephant as grey and move on. Guess that is where the director comes in. We hope that progress on the movie keeps moving in a positive direction, because if it doesn't I'll have to continue explaining what I do all day. Graham Thomaz Writer September 2004 - New work begins on turning Demon Inc. into a motion picture.
Currently the
push is for a motion picture. We want the film to be
completed by the end of 2005 for a 2006 release at the
latest. That's the plan and we are sticking to it.
Now if everyone else sticks to the schedule is another challenge.
We are searching for a film studio to pick up the screenplay and run
with it. Should not be difficult, since the response to the
graphic novel was terrific. The
Demon Inc. Zombie Maker script was
easy to write since most of it was already written.
Fortunately because of the nature of screen writing, some of the scenes
that were removed during the editing of the original graphic novel were
added again. Some characters were changed and a more cinematic
story was created. As
usual more material was written than could be used in the
screenplay. Actually a prequel to the movie was conceived while
the first screenplay was being written. That's
where we are now. A movie based on a popular cyber
novel. I think it will be a first once we get it done. Wish
us luck, and watch the movie screens, we will be there. Graham C. Thomaz |
